Olive, Tata bring X107H broadband-enabled netbook to India

Netbooks with integrated 3G broadband wireless modules are old hat in Europe and Asia. But they’re still a bit of a rarity in India, where Olive Telecommunication and Tata Teleservices have launched the X107H, a rather standard netbook in all respects except the fact that it packs an EV-DO modem.

The X107H has a 1.6GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. The first model available will set customers back Rs. 23,999 (about $494 US) although Tata plans to offer up to 10 models over the next few months, with prices ranging from about $100 to $825.

The news reports I’ve seen all indicate that the netbook has a 1.6Ghz CPU and uses a Qualcomm chip for wireless access. But it’s not clear if the CPU is an Intel Atom processor or another chip.
