Playstation Move motion controllers only popped up yesterday but it seems Heavy Rain creators Quantic Dream were already playing with their own Playstation Move style motion controllers to make the PS3 drama a more immersive experience. Does that bode well for Heavy Rain Playstation Move integration?
Quantic Dream is keeping its cards close to its chest when it comes to updating Heavy Rain to play nice with Playstation Move. However, Heavy Rain creator David Cage has revealed that Quantic Dream actually designed its own custom motion controller.
The two handed controller (which brings to mind the Playstation Move and Playstation Move sub-controller) was designed to allow total interaction with the onscreen world of Heavy Rain.
Destructoid reports that Cage tapped the back of his hands as he described the Heavy Rain motion controller suggesting perhaps that it was more like gloves than a Playstation Move style wand and nun-chuck combination.
Quantic Dream has reportedly shelved the idea of a dedicated Heavy Rain motion controller after concluding that it would not make sense to develop a device for one game.
Cage won’t commit to whether Quantic Game will add Playstation Move support to Heavy Rain saying: “It’s…something we will look at with some interest…to see if it’s possible to use it in the context of a more serious experience.”
